condensor fan disassembly
I'll try this again. Earlier I typed compressor accidentally. I am replacing my CONDENSOR fan motor and am having trouble separating the fan from the motor. I have taken out the little allen screw but it still won't budge. Any help out there?

I'm sure someone has done this?!?

anyone know?
|
The forecast today is 90 degrees. Anyone?
|
The weatherman missed. It is 92 degrees and climbing. I need my AC. Anyone know how to get the fan off the electric motor of the condensor?
|
Paul, I think there is anything else that would keep the fan from coming off once you've loosened the set screw. Try squirting some WD40 or Liquid Wrench into the hole where the setscrew goes and let it sit awhile. It's probably just stuck. Good luck!

Sorry I don't know anything about it. Good luck.
Unfortunately Sundays are one of the slower days on the board, especially in the spring. The weather is getting nice so people are out driving. |
I hate to admit it but I had to resort to a hammer. It took many blows on the old motors center pin and came out. I could not believe how tight it was. It held on for a good 20 blows with a set of pliers on the back side of the fan so I didn't warp it. It slid relatively easy on the new motor.
