fuel lines & CIS

calling out to y'all CIS guru's

have a question about the fuel lines
i know with MFI the length of the lines has to be identical for proper operation, but i haven't been able to find any information about the lines when using CIS

do they have to be identical?
or are they supposed to be a certain length something to match the output on the fuel distributor for each cylinder?

none of the CIS/K Jetronic websites out there mentions anything about the fuel lines

it's actually for my 923, got fuel problems and a busted line replaced by another doesn't seem to do what i hoped it would
but i guess i'll find more CIS folks here than anywhere else

Stijn,

I don't believe the length of the fuel lines matter in CIS because the fuel system pressures are built up and maintained by the system and remain relatively constant. I could be wrong, but I've replaced almost all of my fuel lines and I've adjusted the length to make them easier to route/manage...

My CIS lines are all different lengths. I have the hard steel ones. I know some earlier models used flexible plastic lines.

hmm, the green bugger started running like a 3 legged horse shortly after i replaced the rear fuel pump, i pulled the plug wires one by one and pulling the plug on cyllinder 1 didn't make any worse running engine

so me figured that must be the one not running

checked timing , spark , valves , compression

must be something in the fuel delivery
then i loosened the fuel lines one by one at the distributor
and again , the one for Cyl 1 was the only one that didn't make the engine run worse...

pulled injector, wasn't spraying... replaced line and injector... verified it... it sprayed.. but still no joy... that's when the owner of the garage said the lines should be the right size... but i doubted it...

Did you check the spark via the plug wire for cyl #1? Maybe the wire is bad? You can measure resistance end to end on all the wires and compare.

did check it , and replaced the wire ...
i'll give it some more attention in an hour , f1 on tv and although it's pretty boring... i'll watch...

stijn. i use a water spray bottle to spray the heat exchangers when i first start the car. the hot cylinders will steam up fast proving that it is firing. a dead cylinder will not. do it fast because the heat will creep.

not so easy , this is the 4 banger acting up...
i'm pretty sure it's # 1... but have been lazy all afternoon and should be looking at it instead of looking at my tv and computer...
