I parked my P-car at school last Thursday and some a$$h*le though it would be funny to see if they could take my hood badge off. Although they tried, they didn't complete their task. I guess they were too stupid to know that it is held on with two bolts...not like those rice badges. Luckly they did not scratch my paint or dent my hood, but the badge was bent upward majorly and the filling for the stripes and horse either cracked or came out.
Its sucks but you can't do much about vandalism...so i'm running badgeless for a while. I've parked there friday and today and so far so good. I just park closer to the entrance so my car is seen more than it was where I used to park. I'm not the only Porsche in the lot either. There is a silver 996 there, but when i get there I don't see it...so it must come later. Otherwise I would park next to it.

Get one of those crest decals! It'll still have the crest, be less desireable as a theft item, and be more aerodynamic!!

run it to a battery in the trunk. If someone sues, tell them you thought it was a light-up badge like those honda emblems. Either that or spray it with that stuff from the bruce willis movie ("the jackal" or something).

I just had my BMW roundel stolen from a hotel parking lot last week, must be the season or something.

Just be careful taking it (all the way) off. With a bent badge, the studs can easily seperate from the backing, making them and the speed nuts very difficult to remove.

Nothing for nothing, but this is the second vandalism I've seen posted in SoCal dealing with Porsche cars. The first was someone had his headlights stolen! What's going on with that state? Makes living in PA and dealing with the seasons more acceptable just for the fact my car will still have all its parts when I get back to it. Sorry to hear about it. Suggest moving to a safer state
