Bondurant for my Birthday!
My birthdays are (thankfully) overshadowed by my daughter's, which is five days earlier. My wife was out of town for my 40th and after the work/stress of throwing a party for a four year old I thought mine would pass with little fanfare.
After my wife got back in town she told me she was taking me to dinner at my favorite restaurant. The typical gift bag was waiting for me, but it held an atypical gift - a Bondurant T shirt and a certificate for a 2 day course! Here's the course: http://www.bondurant.com/courses/GPspecial.html She used my $1200 profit selling the '69 911T as justification for the expense(?). After dinner she told me I had to go to F1 Race Factory ( http://www.f1racefactory.com/ ) - an excellent indoor kart track- where a couple of my friends would be waiting for me. I raced two races with 10 kart fields and won both - really upsetting a couple of young Honda and VW pilots! Now if June will hurry up and arrive!

That's excellent, Lee!
And Happy Birthday! Don't worry about 40, it's all downhill from there!

Lee,
Congrats! What did you do with the 69? If it was a 72 I would have bought it from you! BTW, 50 is much worse... metamucil, viagara and so on but the some of us are having so much fun we could care less! JoeA

Congrats ...
My sister and I just bought my Dad a track day for his 60th with www. racingadventures.com (no affiliation - just a happy customer). They use Cobra replicas ... he can't wait. Now he's trying to talk me into going with him!

Happy birthday lee- bob bondurant also runs a very god fahers day package deal (hint hint wink wink) that includes crash avoidance techniques among other fun stuff. If you get a video, maybe us Phx area (Joe too) guys can hook up to see it? Meanwhile we still need another run before summer sets in (no ac).
40 is young, and 50 is looking fresh as it looms on my horizon.

The '69 was purchased by Chuck at Redline Service in Tucson. My early 911 ownership was brief!

congrats! You will have a blast!! Just try and wipe the smile off your face. My wife gave me the Gran Prix Course a few years ago for Christmas. I loved every minute of it, even in the 107 degree heat. Great learning experience, you will never drive the same again.
