Targa Top sides too long
I have been getting feed back from a number of customers that the side seal ordered from at least one after market supplier are a 1/4" to long. Not Pelican.
As part of my Targa Top Restoration business this data would be helpful to know, for if the seal is too long the top won't seat properly. Please reply back with any pos or neg experiences. Thanks. Dan

Dan:
Glad to see you on this 'board. I have the "older" style but will let you know what I find when I replace them in the near future. John

Dan--
I might have discovered that a pair of side seals that I have from Brand-X are, in fact, too long and causing me all kinds of fitment grief. I had first thought that my front (windshield) seal was the culprit and that was in need of a trim. But after whittling away most of it and finding that the top is still too tight, I have come to the conclusion that my side seals are simply too long. You asked in your original post if they were a quarter-inch too long. My guess is that they are too long by at least that much. (Has anyone else purchased side seals that seemed as though they were too long?) Let me know if there's a measurement or photo that I can provide you with to help you determine if the Brand-X seals are, in fact, too long. |
