Need help/advice re: SS hexhaust

I am getting a little desperate here.
My car is on the lift, new engine in, and we can not seem to get any SS heat exchangers.
The first set fit so-so (would have needed to file a few holes), but the craftmanship was piss-poor, with ugly weld blobs.
the second set was polished to a mirror, but would have never fit unless we had a hardcore session with the hydraulic press. About 6-8 mm out of line at the exhaust ports.
Where on this earth can I find corectly manufactured, correctly fitting right out of the box heat exchangers?
As we stand now, I am condemned to re-fit the std Carrera 3.o exhaust...

To be clear: I want to fit the backdated exhaust, as on the MFI Carrera 2.7

Help meeeeee!!

Hi,

I just finished fitting an complete SS system (exhaust and heatexchangers) from Dansk. Perfect fit and no problems whatsoever. It must be possible to find these items in Switzerland or Germany. I bought the items in Holland.

George, Which car is this for? SSI makes the best H.E.s on earth, bar none, they make versions for all 911 motors from 2.0 to 3.2. The fit, materials, and construction is significantly better than new factory pieces. Pelican sells them for ~$850.00 U.S.

Dansk H.E.s are "OK", they do not compare favorably to SSIs.

Hi,

The 'problem' in Europe with SSI is the price. We pay between 1600 - 1800 euro ($ 2000) for a set. I bought the pair of SS Dansk for 950 euro.
Another point is that SSI does not make HH with a connection for the preheated airinlet of the 2.4 MFI engine. I like to keep it original.

Thanks for all the replies. Pelican is getting richer, and me poorer :D

On the bright side George, they should last forever.

Hey George,
Noah has SSI's on his Carrera 3.0 motor, so they'll surely fit yours. With the current strength of the Euro vs. the dollar, you should be able to get SSI's for cheap!!

Took the SSIs off my 2.7 and they fit perfectly on my 3.0. Here is a picture on my 3.0. Good luck George.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1083193088.jpg

This makes no sense whatsoever w/ the current euro/dollar situation, but I guess I'll take your word for it. They should be ~$500.00 U.S.D. right now for you.

And SSI does make the proper pieces for the 2.4 MFI cars w/ the connection for the pre-heat hose.
