Project 73 911 R/RS -- Week 6.2

It was a long night last night, but the car is finally a roller again! With cage done soon, a June launch seems likely.

Week 6 (last week)

Dude you are making me jealous as hell. I'd kill to have my RSR in this kind of shape. Nice work.

Car looks good. How long is it going to take to rewire the car? To me that seems like one of the hardest parts of the project.

I see all your cage tubing in the pics. Are you welding it in yourself? Nice job. Having stripped all the sealers, glue and stone guard off one car, I know what youare going through

Shaun was it your plan to get the car on its wheels before final welding of the cage? This seems like a good idea. Does anyone know if this is nessisary?

I must be exciting to have the car on it's feet again. Great job, keep the updates coming.

btw Maybe I missed it in an earlier installment, but what did you use to strip your undercoating off?

Tim

Dave, I've seen pics of your cars. I should be the one who is jealous!

Steve - rewiring won't be too difficult and I run it in stages. 1. is to get the 3.2 motronic harness in and brake lights. then either run the original harness or custom wire as appropriate.

Milt, James Achard (JPAchard) is doing all the cage work. Should be a gorgeous, strong and safe cage tied to F/R suspension pick-ups.

Tim, yes, it is better to have the car on its suspension for the cage work. Here are weeks 1-5.
