will 18" rims fit my 87

Continuing the new rim search. I was looking in ebay and see several 18'' turbo twists. Is there a way to have them fit the 87 targa?
Anyone have some 17" oem or better rims they are selling, or willing to sell?

18"s are not recommended for the earlier cars. Something about too much stress on the bearings causing premature wear.

They do fit but they look to large for the car. Sort of out of place if you know what I mean.

Just Don't Do It.

More modern cars are designed and built with larger rims in mind. Older cars were not. And they don't look at all right in most cases. Steve's car looks okay, but I still think the rims look too large. And the tires are stupidly expensive.

Price is relative, a set of 18inch tires can be had for $600. Not bad if you ask me.

the tire cost, and rim sizing are very good points.
Where should I be looking for 17"'s?
