electrical part of ignition switch

I am trying to replace the electrical portion of my ignition switch to hopefully cure my starting problem. How do I unplug the wires from the electrical switch under the dash? Does it just pull off, or are there tabs I need to release. Can I stick a screw driver inbetween and pry it apart? Any advice would help!

It is a tight fit but it is a friction fit. Try to wiggle it back and forth, but it will not twist. After you get that off, the electrical switch is held to the ignition housing by 2 small screws. Good luck

Be careful if you decide to get the screwdriver in there, you don't wanna short anything out! (disconnect battery first maybe)

As safecracker says above it's a friction fit, but it's really tight up there!

Good luck!

Tim.
