Alternator/black Wire
When I removed my alternator I found the black wire was not being used, my fuel gauge would drop when my head lights were on in the past, I know that the black wire runs back to the regulator DF but there does not seem to be a connection for the df on the alternator, three connections red ,blue, brown all of which I know where they go. should I just leave the black wire off or should I connect somewhere.
The alternator is the French model and looks like its in new condition made in 98. Everything worked without it, just fuel gauge jumped.

I think I must have a newer internal regulated alternator thats why the black wire was clipped and unattached. I have been using the external regulator how should I go about not using it since the blue
and brown wires are still running out of the alternator, should I just jump or splice those into the terminals of the external regulator plug in.

I figured it out, I have the internal and will plug into the old regulator plug. I will check to see what bulb I am running and replace or use resistor if the lamp does not go out.
