Question Armstrong tiles for my garage???

Hey guys!

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever tried using those commercial grade tiles by Armstrong in their garage(s). They seems to be pretty tough, and I've seen them in many commercial and industrial applications, but I'm wondering if they will handle the constant wear and tear (and weight) of cars going in and out of the garage over a the coming years....

Any one try this???

JON

I installed black and white commercial grade tiles in my garage about 9 years ago. No problems with lifting but these were installed over a freshly poured concrete slab. Old cracked and/or oil stained concrete may be a different story.

They handle the weight of a car, even my 3700 lb 450SL, with no issues but sharp objects, such as jack stands, will leave an imprint. Also, if not washed regularly any staining will be permament.

Thats funny, I'm planning on tiling my garage with those this weekend.

Its not the best option, but its definitely cheaper than race deck or those insane Griots tiles.

We use epoxy floor paint at work (adhesive and coating firm) cleans up nicely, is very durable (will handle forklift traffic) and can be buffed to look very shiny. The stuff we use runs about $100/gal and covers approx 450 sq ft. Tile is nice but would be much more high maintenance (you can always touch up paint.
