Sparco seat install: custom mount?
For a Sparco "street" seat like the Monza, do you have to fabricat a custom mount, or will it bolt right up to the stock sliders (like the Recaro Speed will)? Alternatively, will "universal sliders" fit the seat and the mounting holes in the coupe?

They have different spacing than the stock ones. Both width and lenght are differnt.

Generally what you do is fabricate an adaptor from one to the other. A flat plate can be all you need. I would do this for you, but there are liability issues.
Recently,a fellow Pelican asked me to weld back in his removed sliders in his 911 that were taken out for a race seat installation. I declined, once again, for liability. Well, to begin with, I'm not a certified welder, so that was an obvious deficiency. But, with a piece of 1/4" alum plate from the metal supply surplus bin and a hand drill motor, one could be made. You have the advantage here of moving the seat side to side as well to line up better with the pedals. |
I wouldn't use the aluminum plate. We used some aluminum plate for a seat install a few years back and galvanic corrosion ate the aluminum up at the seat became loose.
