Popoff valve

My pop off valve needs to be reglued in.

Any recommendations as to how to clean the area as I have a K&N Filter and the oil I think contributed to the lifespan and effectiveness of the glue holding it in.

I was going to clean it with some rubbing alcohol, rough up the surface a bit with some sandpaper and then use some epoxy to hold the bastard in.

I also was curious as to which way the opening should go - open with the hinge on the back side of the airbos (back of the car)? That is what I read in earlier posts - just wanted to double check.

Thanks!

Originally the pop valve was glued in with epoxy? Did it just came off because the neck of the valve is so smooth that the epoxy had little bite? If the original epoxy on the air box is still sound and provides a tight fit when you re-seat the valve, then just use "krazy glue" to bond the valve to the epoxy. Yes the hinge needs to be on the rear side of the car.

and yes clean the area to be reglued with rubbing alcohol.

Yes, the glue is still there - I haven't tested it's hold.

The other thing is that I just had my CAT reinstalled for the smog inspection. Alex tuned it to run with the CAT rather than the bypass pipe but until the engine has some heat - not a lot - just some it runs very poorly. Once it has about 2 and a half minutes of running on it it's just about fine and once it is running for 5 it runs very well. I don't know if this is normal though or if I need to really look into this cold running problem. I can say this, I am not comfortable with it as it is and am considering going back to the bypass pipe. I'd rather stay legal though and get it running well with the CAT installed. Pollution is bad.

Thanks!
