87-89 911 Coupe Sought

I am looking for a pampered 87-89 911 coupe with low mileage (less than 40K). Any help finding one, preferably in the NC area, would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Check the local and regional PCA websites. That's generally a good place to look.

At least you have your sense to keep your search to a coupe only!

Why not 84-86....?

G50's have their own achilles heel ( actuation shaft bearings), that wasn't fixed until April '89 production...rather late in the 3.2 G50 series.

This issue *will* bite unless documented fixes were made to the earlier run of cars....

But at least you can "fix" those problems with a G50! The 915 is going to be that way forever.

Try: www.aicauto.com or www.holtmotorsports.com . Neither are cheap but they have good stuff.

Would you buy a car from either aicauto or holtmotorsports without first travelling to see it? I have found some wonderful cars (both at aic and holt, as well as other used car dealerships), but am a little skeptical of buying site unseen.

I bought mine from AIC. I went there in person to see and drive the car prior to purchasing. Both shops are located near each other in PA, which is not that far away from NC.

the dealer I got mine from sent me some picture of an 89 turbo this morning with on 26K miles that is in perfect shape. It's it Boston where I got mine, but it's not a bad drive back from NC. I think I still have the pics if interested.

Wow - 89911 is feisty today - what's a matter - refferendum to put flouride in the water?

Hey, I put the smiley wink next to my demeaning statements. That makes it cool, right? Just a bit overworked. No signs of fluoride in these parts lately. It's all good! Actually, I am miffed my engines isn't done yet and the weathers finally coming around. I've got Porsche cold turkey.

I understand completely - forgot the wink on mine.
