WOW, its surprising how much there is once you start scratching, I must admit I am a bit surprised that they did not replace the complete B-post section.
But it is looking good and I am also surprised at your turn around time, mine was gone for months as well. And yes mine was going to cost around £1200 and ended up being £3200. But the result was definitely worth it. I am seriously considering fender liners for the inside of my wings. The salt and crud on our roads is no good for our cars. Cheers Jakes

Whats being done about the inner jack post and inner rocker?? The quality of the metal fabrication looks great....just hope they did the same repairs on the hidden panels.
Keep us posted on your progress. Are you planning an entire repaint or blending in the repairs with current color. Regards - Jim |

I don't feel so bad about my car now. My jack posts and inner longs are long gone along with the front pan. (I wanted to see how much alliteration I could get in there

Everthings being repaired, as far as paint goes it's gonna be a blend-in this time my budget doesn't stretch to a full respray. That'll have to wait a couple of years! Cheers, Tim.

About two years ago there was an article in the 911 and porsche world magazine. There's a company on the continent somewhere that makes them, I will try to fish the details out.
I repaired my car (similar corrosion to Tim's) and when the taillights came out (to repair rust above taillight area) there was around an inch of crud on top of the taillight assembly, i.e. in the corner. I then drove for around 14 months (engine blew) and I pulled the back bumper off etc.etc. and I could not believe how much stuff was on top of the taillight assemblies again. I'll see if I can dig the article out

OK, I'm feeling slightly lazy and dim!!!
What is "Body Schutz"? Jakes Edit, the lazy part is that I don't want to do a search

"Body Schutz" is the rubbery undercoat used by Porsche.
It gives good protection *until* water gets under it.

The stuff Porsche uses under the fenders is more like Wurth SKS than 3M body schutz.
