new door skin?

The p/o of my Carrera put a nice dent in the driver's door by not replacing the door stay - she over-extented the door right into the fender. On any account, I see one can buy a door skin for not too much, and then I assume have it painted and replaced? Has anyone done this?

I think I'd look for a used door in good shape. Putting on the door skin will cost more than getting a good door painted.

unless you use the factory skin, expect more than the average amount of bodywork. skins are great, decent doors are even better.

What he said. And there is usually damage to the inner door support to work out before the skin can go on. Ask me how I know>
