Front license plate? What front license Plate? That would affect airflow to my oil cooler I doubt it would pass, to much easy revenue for the state..

I really don't think we can avoid the front plate especially now that they are using more and more cameras at intersections to catch red light violators. The photos snap the front plate along with the drivers face. Big Brother is watching us more often than ever.

Did the people who wrote that "petition" actually READ it? While I wholeheartedly agree with the concept, the way that document is written would make it difficult for anyone to take it seriously. The "law enforcement" argument is laughable.

"Front plate??? Hmmm, I never heard that I needed one? Bought car used. Don't see anywhere to bolt up a plate there, do you?"

Hoping that will work once, if I ever get asked by a law enforcement type. Which I never have in the last 14 yrs or so w/o a front plate... seems a very randomly (or discriminatorily) enforced law.

But, it is being enforced more now than before. the subject has come up on this board before with regard to getting a ticket from the meter maid. I don't have one on the 911, but I put one on the Boxster as ugly as it is. The holes are there anyway. I use one now on my pickup, whereas I haven't had one on it for most of it's 14 years. We have 2 other cars and they have plates too. I just don't want to deal with it.

I doubt if they will ever take them off unless we get some kind of chip for the cars in the future with our registration. Even then, the ability of a witness to report a license # would be cut in half.

I actually do have front plates on two of the cars, but not my Audi or 914.

I virtually never park these cars in public streets or lots, so the meter maid factor is not significant; however, the moving violation factor remains high (Knock on wood, no tickets since 1999 and hopefully my luck will hold out.)

Front plate is a humongous reflector of radar energy. Never had one, never will.
