Question What fuel line with the new fuel pump

The last thing in my continuing saga is the fuel pump stopped pumping (got really loud then quiet as all get out as the car stopped running). I pulled the old pump and looked around. I bet it is the original pump as evidenced by corrosion on the body of the pump. The electrical connections were clean on both ends and the fuses were all in place and even putting in a new relay did nothing for the pump.

I received the new pump but have a question as to the type of hose to put in from the tank to the pump. I did not see the fuel line listed on the parts selection on Pelican. The largest inner diameter I can find locally in fuel injection rubber hose is 3/8". Is it ok to use standard fuel line hose? The current line appears to be sheathed and the standard rubber line I have looked at is rather thin walled.

You can get the cloth-covered metric stuff from Pelican, and if not them, then from Performance.

I used standard auto parts store fuel line for a while, then switched to the "correct" stuff when I had the time to put in an order (I'm running a front SC pump on my '75).

I don't think it really matters one way or the other, as long as the wall thickness is enough not to collapse under suction.

David,

The "standard" fuel rated hose at the parts store is not rated for very much pressure. Have the guy at the counter go behind the counter for the SAE 30R9 rated fuel injection hose. Most likely, it will not have the braided cover but it will be perfectly fine for the service.
