Show me your race seat mounting in your early 911.
Hi all,
I have a pair of Sparco Rev seats to install in my 72 911. How is everyone mounting their race seats in the early cars? Do you have to fabricate/weld a custom bracket? I'd LOVE to still be able to move the seat fore and aft, so if anyone has pics, that would be great. I don't necessarily need pics of anyone's install in a post 73 911, because the seat mounting setup is different in the 74+ cars. Thanks in advance.

howdy;
just did this with Corbeau seats this weekend, but it was made all the easier with a bracket that fit onto the previous holes, spanned the width of the seats and had a place to mount the new seats. I'd be surprised if Sparco did not have such a bracket already to go....and with my install the seats still move fore and aft. The 'bracket' I found was from another 'pelican-er' who had a later 911 with an early bracket, I had a later bracket with an early 911 and so we traded! good luck! in retrospect, I should've taken pix, but didn't, sorry. |
