Question Torsion bar not sitting right????

I just replaced the rear control arm bushings in my '71. When I put the control arm back into the car and tightened it down with the plate, the torsion bar end didn't line up (picture). Is this a issue? How do I fix it?
Thanks in advance!!!

Picture to come.

The tbars do have some allowance side to side, about 1/4 inch.

Note there is not a back stop at the other end of the bar. Only the opposite tbar prevents it from pushing in too far. If you don't have the other tbar installed, the one pictured is free to slide through the center spline.

Normally you would not see this set-back because there is a cover plate staked into the end of the spring plate. Since yours is removed, you will need to make provision to prevent the tbar from sliding out.

I can see that you do not have Sway a way spring plates. But as an FYI, SAW plates do leave an excessive amount of setback on the torsion bar, and the spline engagement is diminished.

Thanks chuck,
The other side is flush, so maybe I will tap it in a little bit to try to even them out. Good to know this is some what ok.
