Early 911 Speaker kickpanel install pics!
Hi all,
Just got my car back today from having some Kustom™ Kick panels installed. They did a great job installing them and preserving my precious foot room in the cockpit. The head unit is an Eclipse 8443, and the speakers are a/d/s/ separates. I'm shopping for an amp at the moment...will probably go Zapco. The sub install will be in the smuggler's box. Here are the pics: http://whirledmedia.com/kickpanelinstall/kickpanelinstall.html If anyone is in Colorado, the install was done at Kustom Kar Audio in Boulder. Clay (The owner) is the "Jesse James" of car audio in these parts. http://www.kustomkaraudio.com/ |
They look good. Not much room behind those kick panels, that's for sure. I do wonder how they'll handle the heat in summer, but they surely won't have to handle the water they invariably deal with when in the door.

If I were to ever put a stereo in my 71 this is the route I would go. Looks nice and clean.

Yes...it's nice and clean. And the imaging from the tweeters is great.

That looks really nice. I wanted to mount my speakers there, but I was scared away by the high quotes at a couple shops I checked at. If you don't mind my asking, how much did the enclosure work run? I assume they were custom fabbed, right?

Hmm...the installer is a close friend, so they didn't cost me anything. But I would think they'd be about $300 for the pair? I'll find out for sure.

He can, by the way, make molds of his work and sell them to other parts of the country.
