Volt, Trans temp, and a Fuel/Air mixture Meters installation difficulty....

Hello

I’m looking to install a Volt, Trans temp, and a fuel/air mixture meters into a 1974, 911 with a 2.7L engine and a 915/61 tranny.

What would be the install difficulty on these?

Does any one have this setting running? And what types of senders or tubing are required?

any comment..... Thanks,

Ricardo

well, voltage is easy.Find a key on power wire from your ignition switch and tap in with a vampire connector.lllumination is tapped into from one of you instruments so you get the dash dimmer function.Air/fuel? well since you`ve got a CIS 2.7 you`ll need to install an O2 bung in the collector of your exhaust for the O2 sensor.l`m assuming you`ll buy a kit with sensor, guage, wiring.Trans temp?Sounds cool.Same illumination wiring, power with key on source and route the signal wire through the firewall behind the rear seat where you put the O2 signal wire through. To do a really clean install of these guages with factory quailty wiring/fasteners etc l would expect to spend at least eight hours. But l`ve done it before and l`m a freak for super sanitary mods that look as good as or better then factory.Good luck with it

Raceman thanks for your comments!

Any other thoughts?

And does any one have suggestions; where to buy the Volt, Trans temp, and a fuel/air mixture meters, sensor, and wiring?

Thanks,

Ricardo,
I have just ordered an Air / Fuel gauge from Westach. Hopefully it will arrive prior to this weekend so that I can install this unit. In navigating the Westach website, you will quickly see that these folks have a plethora of gauges (the Pelican Board is where I first heard of this company). My reply may be a little bit premature in answering your question but take a look at Westach and you should be able to find all the gauges (and then some!!!) that you are seeking...

That sounds like a good set of mods.
The trans sensor may be able to be put in the drain plug hole but the fuel/air might require removing the whole exhaust and more tricky if it's stainless steel.

Try the seach funtion from the top of the page- you'll find several threads as to where people have installed them and where they bought them from.

There is a guy on E-bay selling a plug (for oil and trans drain) with a temperature sensor on it. If he's got a plug that will fit your trans drain plug, then all you need is a matching temp gauge. The plug sells for about 25 bucks. I think it's a VDO product.
