I'm taking off my door striker plates from an older car, and can't seem to find the correct tool to do that, any know thus?

It will be a 12pt (triple square) tool. Sears or maybe your local autoparts store should have them. I got my set at AutoZone.
Make sure the head is clean and the tool is square or you risk stripping. Spray a little penetrating oil from the fender well on teh backs of the bolts. It will help them. Also scrape off any goo, undercoating, cosmoline, etc so you won't damage threads. pay attention to any shims behind the striker plates.

I think it's the same as the common VW tool and it fits in an 8mm deepwell.
I hammered on the tool end to flex the threads and break the corrosion, and used painters tape to outline it for reinstation.
