Starting question for 77 911
Hi,
My car always starts first try after sitting for a while (over night). If I start and then turn off again shortly there after, the car won’t usually turn over immediately. What I end up doing is turning the key on and off 4 or 5 times until it decides to turns over. There is no time lapse between the on’s and off’s, I just keep doing until it decides to turn over. It doesn’t turn a bit either, once it turns it is good to go. Does that sound more like a ground issue or an ignition switch issue? Solenoid is brand new on starter. Thanks, David |

I just had this issue - starter would not crank over when hot. I checked the condition of the battery, main hot cable, and grounds before yanking the starter. Took it to Advance Auto (free testing rig) and it tested bad. Anyway, that order of testing progresses from easiest to hardest, so it may be a good way to pattern your troubleshooting. Good luck and let us know what you find out.
