How to remove Dashboard Center Face Plate?
Hi,
On a '81 911 SC... I'm trying to remove the center Dashboard Face Plate... the one that has the vent/fan controls and radio. Any tips on removing it. I would hate to damage it. I've removed the radio. I've also tried to remove the vent/fan control face, but it seems to be screwed in or something. Any ideas, tips would be great. Thanks Shayne |

Look under the dash and you should see that the control assembly is attahced to the front body with a bracket and a bolt into a rubber absorber thingy (am I making any sense? I hardly understand it myself). Once you undo the bolt (10mm I think) you will have to undo all of the cables that control the vents (a bit of work but doable). The trim panel is simply attached with 2-sided tape. Use a putty knife and carefully pry it off. Why are you removing it? Email me and I can send you a pic of one removed. poorsha@shaw.ca (left Coast). |
