OK to mix braided and non-braides plug wires?
Lets say you find a bad braided wire and you only have non-braided wires around, would it harm anything to run with different wires until a new set was available?

But you don't think it's a good idea to do this for a few days?

It makes no difference; you can use the unbraided wires forever.

Jim,
I was not sure of the braid was there mostly for looks or served some true function. I think in some bygone age, the metal braiding was supposed to help reduce radio interference.

The braid was there in an attempt to reduce crosstalk between the wires which was being blamed for the blown airbox problem. The braiding didn't help but redesign of the airbox to better redistribute the fuel from the cold start valve helped the problem somewhat but not completely hence the need for the popoff valve. Jim
