I know there are tons of threads on this...
I thought I would do a test paint of of the fan...i used a high temp engine paint from a national autoparts store....did a very quick sanding of the fan...did not spend more that 30 minutes sanding.....painted approx. 3 coats....over a period of a couple of hours....car is a daily driver...have almost 2000 miles and it is still perfect...no chips. Just thought is was a pretty good result for a $3.00 or $4.00 solution. Andy 81 911SC ![]() |

It really doesn't look too bad. I'd be curious to see how that holds up over time, though. I thought I had read one of the threads on this one where somebody did just what you did, and the paint started chipping at the edges. Frustrating, 'coz then you have to remove all of it and have it powdercoated or something to keep it decent-looking. Let us know how it works out for you?
