Hello Muthers!
...on this fine Mother's Day.
I figured it's time for an introduction. I've been a long time lurker, actually, have been lurking for time period of two Porsches! a 71T and my current ride, a 76 911S targa. I've had the 76 for less than a year. Pictures, I hear you say? Hope this URL works: http://www.powergate.ca/~adeluca/web.../car side2.jpg So, what do you think? What should I do to if first? It has a bit of oversteer when I corner. What could cause that? I think I need that V-Ram thingy. See yah, Ian Toronto, CANADA 1976 911S Targa |
Quack Quack all the way

If it was me, send the wheels to Al Reed, and change the whale with a duck. Michael |
Lower to at least Euro height.
|
I would set the ride height to euro specs or outfit your car with O2. Don't want to black out at high altitudes. ;)
Also, get an alignment and see if that provides any help with your oversteer. |
The car sits way too high, esp in the rear!
|
|
Lower and do something with the wheels (polish the lips?). Wht size wheels do you have there? Consider going bigger. Stay with the whaletail. Consider tinting the glass.
|
Good greif guys.
Dudes first post and all you can do is bash his ride height, wheels and tail? Granted, he "is" Canadian, but come on! :D Welcome aboard, Ian. |

Hey Ian, welcome aboard. I personally love cars with the whaletail and I think that a targa is fun to drive when the weather is nice. Sorry if we came on too strong. You have to have a tough skin to run with this crowd. Sam: I'm loving the 8-ball and flames. Tell me where I can get some for my ride. |
Euro ride height? That's waaaay too high! It a 911, not a Cayenne. :D
|
Oversteer and the very high rear end are most likely related!
|
So, my ride height is a little outta whack, I take it? (that explains all the forehead grease on the inside of the windshield and the empty coke cups under the pedal cluster!)
swbsam - The side decals are slick too. Maybe a Dale Earnhardt tribute could work too? Jim R. - O2 masks that drop from the visors would be cool. Kinda Knight Rider-ish. Leland / Por_sha911 - thanks for the warm welcome. No worries; I do have a thick skin and a sense of humour! (You have to with these cars.) OK, so I've compiled your list of 'must dos' from this post and have given the car to Moto Miester for a once over. (heard great things about these guys) http://www.powergate.ca/~adeluca/web...s/car side.jpg http://www.powergate.ca/~adeluca/web...s/car rear.jpg http://www.powergate.ca/~adeluca/web.../car front.jpg The car should be completed by tomorrow evening. I'll be sure to post the results. ;) Ian |
