Exclamation ATTN: Twin-pipe sport muffler owners!

Went to Home Depot today to grab some drywall screws for some work I was doing around the house. Anyway, I pull out onto the road and come up to the first light and a very nice black impact-bumper car with orange Carrera stripes is waiting at the light. I roll my window down and say "nice car", he compliments me on mine and we pull away from the light together and make it down the road to a stop sign. He comes to a stop right before me and once I stop he starts to roll forward and then I hear a loud screech and a "biiiiiiiiiiing!" and then a crackle. Well, guess what, the grandma in the Lexus behind him was too busy yapping on the phone and she idled into his twin-pipe sport muffler. We pulled over and I gave him my name/number for insurance/witness purposes. The damage to his car was fairly minimal, the sport muffler tips had bent the actual muffler in and his rear valence got scraped up. The Lexus had two indentations and a couple cracks on the front bumper cover. Anyway, if you guys run your twin-pipes with the full length outlets that stick out a foot past the rear bumper, consider chopping your tips down a bit or be careful out there.

Oh yeah, much longer, maybe 8-10 inches longer at least.

I have the same concerns. I still have the full length pipes on mine and it's always a worry when I parallel park. Feels like it's the first thing to hit.

I know I'm in trouble, but hopefully I won't be out there with Grandma in front of the Home Defect.

Never mind the door pocket. Pic lifted from another thread.

Zeke, What did you do, weld some cookie cutters on your muffler? Looks pretty cool. How does it sounds?
