quick sunroof question
I recently took my sunroof apart piece by piece and put it back together. The cable had broken off of the cable guide piece so i epoxing them back together at the right length and now i have a new problem.
The sunroof works perfectly using the manual wrench piece for it. I can open and close it fine this way. Using the switch, the motor will only push it closed about 90%. The motor cant push it past that last little hump where it pushes up to seal the roof. Also, from a closed position using the motor, it will struggle through the first 10% of it but then retract fine from there. Nothing appears to be blocking the way, what could the problem be? Should I lube up my guide rails a little bit, and how exactly would I do this? Also some of the leather below the guide rail has become slightly torn and appears to be getting caught a little bit. This may be what is causing the motor to struggle. How should I glue this leather back on? Thanks a million -Matt (Matt5454@comcast.net) |

Just use some lubricant on the rails and operate the sunroof a couple of times. That did the trick for me after a broken cable. It eventually closed all the way.
