Speedo question?
Yesterday I was driving over the golden gate bridge and I noticed that my speedomiter stopped working for 30 seconds or so and then returned to normal. It works fine now?
So does that mean that every time I drive over the bridge my speedo will stop working? Or is something loosening up in there, is there something to check or is this Porsches way of saying it's time to start looking for new/used speedo? Any advice? |
You need to let us know what year car you are talking about. The speedo can be electronic or mechanic depending on the model year. Yours is probably the later and maybe the connector at the tranny, or the sender or the connector at the speedo is the culptrit.

Sorry, forgot about that part. The car is a 79sc with 140,000 miles on it.

Check your connections at the plug under the access for the shift rod. If thats not it, the speedo sender unit is probably on its way out. It's located just above the inner cv joint on the passenger side of the trans.Easy fix if thats it. Good luck
