SSI w/ Bursch or AJ Sport Mufler
I am currently running the SSI HE exhaust with a 2 in/1 out Bursch using the Dynomax Turbo #17733 muffler on my mild 3.0.
I am wanting to install the AJ USA 2 in /2 out Sport Muffler twin center outlet pipes. Can anyone tell me from past experience if the AJ USA muffler will be louder than my current set up? If so, how much more louder would it be (little, louder, Very LOUDER)? Will I get better performance? Thanks

No experience with this muffler, but be careful when trying to discuss competitor's products on this site. Kinda bad form, if you know what I mean.

The AJ sport is very loud, I ease my RS clone thru town hoping that the ricers' stereos partially mask my dB...

The AJ-USA 2-in/2-out is extremely loud, and also not of very high quality construction (it is made from a split and rewelded mild steel aftermarket 2-in/1-out muffler.)
I would suggest looking at either a Dansk 2-in/2-out stainless unit instead, or if a mellower sound is desired, maybe a 1-out Dansk or a Monty. In my opinion the sound quality and performance will beat a Bursch-style setup, although this is a subjective decision...

Chris,
Would you consider the Dansk 2 in / 2 out louder than my existing set up? How's about the GHL 2 in /2 out, what is the sound comparison to the Dansk?

I have the Dansk 2-in, 2-out (not the sport muffler style, though) and it is very quiet. I doubt it is much louder than stock.

The twin center outlet (sport) version is "significantly loud".
Frankly in my gutted 914-6, I can't really hear the exhaust from the cockpit over the Webers w/ ITG filters gulping air right behind my head. (With the open megaphones, however, you can definitely hear them!) But I do know from prior 2-in/2-out sport muffler experiences that they are basically cop-magnets on the street, and can get you black-flagged at certain autox or race track venues. I think they measure at 96dbA or so. The end-outlet styles like the Monty or Dansk (or a custom Flowmaster) sound like a great 'compromise' between the two extremes of the sport style and the stock (1-out) style.

I have the AJUSA twin pipe sport muffler. The quality with mine, so far, has been fine. It is loud, but it was my daily driver for quite a while like that, not too bad. It's a raw and raspy sound.....I love it!
