Has anyone had the experience of using these tires?
I'm interested in both DE and street opinions. Thanx, Pete

Pete,
I am on my third set of Toyo Proxes T1-S, 2 with the S2000 and 1 with the 911, and have had good experiences with them. The Toyos are a harder compound than some of the Bridgestones. They seem to last about 8-10K miles on the rear (rears wear out 2:1 vs. the front set) with pretty aggressive driving. Since they have deep grooves, they will squirm a bit on the track which is good for predictability at the limit. And lastly, I have no affiliation with Toyo. ![]()

I prefer the T1-S's for street because they are great with both dry and wet surfaces. I see posts once in a while where individuals just freak because of loosing it in the rain. The proxes seem to really grab nice IMO.

I've driven on T1-S's on the street only for about the last 9 months (wet and dry conditions). I love them. Never had a bit of looseness from the rear even when cornering hard in the wet (although I do have LSD, which may also be helping).
One thing that I remember clearly when I bought the tires. I bought them slightly used (scrubbed?) on a set of 17" Cup wheels. Traded in some Yoko AVS-ES100's on 16" BBS wheels. I was quite ready for a harsher ride with the Toyos as they were going to have a shallower sidewall. To my surprise, they rode smoother and more comfortably than the 16" Yokos! Happy camper. Tom

I'm very happy with my T-1S's. Nice grip, nice grooves and relatively quiet. I feel they grab nearly as well as my former set of S02's.

I also agree with the above posts that they are excellent. Especially in the wet.
However, one gripe that I did have was the fact that it started screeching much earlier than the grip was letting go. Most tyres screech near the limit, but for some reason the T1-s screech when there is a lot of grip left to be had. It's not a big deal but just attracts the wrong attention when you are driving a little quickly, but not overly so. A bit irritating. Otherwise probably one of the best tyres I have used. Puf

I just picked up my '84 Turbo look with Toyo tires on it. The front are 205x50 16's and the back 245x45 16's. I beleive, from what I read, that the back's should be 224x50 16's, but the tires on it are very good. I have only had the car 4 weeks, and the tires work VERY well on dry road, no chance to wee what they do on wet pavement yet. I'm very happy with the handling.
John sorry! should be 225x50 16's on back.
