MSD Installation....

I put an MSD in my '80 SC recently. I relocated the rear defrost relay to lay flat under the MSD. That left plenty of room for the M6A box. I also put crimp on 1/4" male connectors on the MSD wires and simply plugged them into the 6 wire master plug. Piece of cake!

Thanks to everyone!!! I put the MSD in last night and she fired right up. The only drawback is that I now have to go back and get the Tachometer working. At least I am driving her again!!

Here is what I did. I extended my electric plate out to hold the MSD as well. I kept as many componets in there stock positions as possible. For those who are not aware the ground is located between the MSD and Crane in the engine bay once mounted up, thats why it is open so I can access it.

What a great idea you had for installing the MSD in your 80 911. I pretty much reconfigured my panel the same way. Not only does it work but is very functional as well. I also like the idea of using the original 6 pin plug for connection. I have two questions for you please. First, regarding the using the original plug. I am having trouble figuring out which each of the pins on the original plug correspond to the appropiate MSD connection. And second, did your tachometer fuction correctly after installation or did you have to purchase the tach adapter?

I guess selling German elec has nothing to do with your opinion ;)

My home pc just went belly up so I can't give you the pin out right now. But, no the tach adapter was not needed. As soon as I can set up a new pc I will post the wiring info you need.
