72 911S on ebay, cheap...Pick it apart fellas!

Anyone seen this "gem"? Looks like quite a pig...but a Viper Green 911S would be pretty sweet! Any takers?

Sad to see such a once awesome car sunken so low...

i love the green... second only to signal orange. i'm really partial to 72S cars, too... i guess you'd gut the interior a la rsr treatment?

no MFI too... lord knows what the motor is from.

that's definitely a car that has potential, though.

i see pieced together cars all the time in the mopar world. when they're really desirable, it's a shame.

I rather like it, would be interesting to find out if its the original motor, just with webers fitted.

That's one car that is worth doing a proper ($$) restoration on.

He obviously hasn't seen my 'project.'

I would have loved to have had that to start with. But then again, the resreve is somewhere over 10K, which is twice what I paid. So, I have some room for expendetures.

Every car has some redeeming qualities. Sometimes you have to be creative to find them.

Take a look at this thread before thinking about restoring this car.

What car are you looking at? The one I get when I click the link is not green. It's maroon. Am I having a flashback? The car I see needs at LOT of attention for that price. But then is IS an early S.

It certainly seems like it has the potential to be a diamond in the rough. As far as the pricing, it is pretty clear that the seller set a low starting price, but the reserve indicates that they don't expect it to end there -- and neither do I.

It's too bad about the "upgrade" to webers, but they're always worth a few bucks on the market to help pay for retrofiting the MFI!

That right side door handle/arm rest has to be worth big $$$. Those are unobtainable.

it needs at least 6 K of work ( if you do most of it yourself and nothing fishy is happening with the engine or tranny )

chain tensioners, new paint job , interior , couple of maintenance thingies
6K is low estimate

Is it even an S? The engine has a black fiber glass fan shroud & Webers, indicating a T.

After reading the link posts, and seeing the bids its hard to believe, someone is going to get stuck deep in that car.

I'll bet a can of Corroless paint that it has enough rust to warrant cutting out and replacing panels. Worth 3K$ tops. Jim

The link he referred to is a guy over on the 911S list who found this one too, and he checked it out and said it has tons of bondo, a 2.2 T engine, etc. Here's the link:

Again, sad to see a sweet ride is such poor shape.
