Track Car Progress and the Slippery Slope!

If the photos are working you should see some pictures of my 86 which I am gradually turning into a track car. I bought the car last fall and over the winter fitted f/b bumpers and a ducktail. The bumpers and lid are Rennspeed. Repainted in Arrow Blue code L305 after seeing pictures of the same color on this BBS. Added 8/9x16 fuchs instead of the 6/7x16's and also fitted the 032R's with 225 up front and 245 in back. This week I had stiffer torsion bars fitted and sport shocks, turbo tie rods, bump steer kit, lowered and corner balanced. Much remains to be done, H4's, brake cooling ducts, front oil cooler, racing buckets etc etc....

No engine mods or exhaust as of yet. F/B, paint, weight reduction, wheels, tires, suspension have all been done. Next will be the interior such as seats and a RS interior. I doubt I would spend much on this motor, a transplant would be more to my liking at some point in the future!

It is a rennsppeed bumper. The style is in the form of the '74 IROC cars, but fits an SC or Carrera. Seems to me it was $250. Check out www.rennspd.com

looks awesome, love the color. Are you going to keep the flags? l made the mistake of having my paint done and then deciding to switch to the Yellowbird/RSR mini mirrors.l`ve got to get my doors redone now as there are a lot of little holes up there for the flag/teardrop mirrors mounting points.l like that you kept the headlights/bezels,you can now get lights that allow you to use those bezels and fit H4 bulbs. So you won`t have sealed beams anymore,it`s a great mod and coupled with adding a relay for the 80/120 bulbs you`ll have plenty of light for the high speed midnight prairie runs.. and what size T/bars did you use,front/rear?

Flags will go someday... low priority for now. T/bars are 22/26mm. So many ideas!

AWESOME!, track car hell I want to see that puppy on the streets around here.

Two questions, can you get up a driveway or over a speed bump, and how is the suspension on these crappy roads. The reason I ask is I'm doing alot of the same upgrades this year.

Nice...

Bob - driveways and speed bumps are taken slowly. Ride is firm, a tad choppy, but not unpleasant.

H4's in the works, they would really clean up the front end.
