Any WUR experts?

After having pour running hard starting problems I just replaced my WUR. Now I have hot start problems. The CIS system won’t hold at rest pressure. I replaced the check valve at the fuel pump and also the fuel accumulator. Still had the problem. Hook up the pressure tester and following the instructions determined that the bleed off is on the return side of the wur. To verify this I put the old wur back in and ran the test again and it held pressure fine.

So after all that my question is what inside the wur holds the pressure on the return side and can it be fixed? Thanks!

The WUR doesn't hold pressure. The acumulator does, which you said you replaced. Was this a new WUR?

David,

The accumulator is on the feed side which is holding pressure. There must be something in the wur which keeps the pressure from leaking over to the return side?? I say the wur because when I put the old one back in, it holds pressure. The new wur I believe is a rebuild one (new looking) I bought from a fellow Pelican so I can't return it. Thanks!

i too changed a WUR to fix at rest pressure. it would drop to zero. i dont know how, but a new WUR fixed the prob. it must be the diaphram on the inside. i know alot of people take the WUR and flip the diaphram over to "refresh" it. maybe give this a try. you will probably need to mess with the plug once to take it apart. so my advice is to tap it out from the inside a bit so you have room to adjust by tapping it back in once back into the car.

Can someone post some pics about the plug, diaphram etc, I want to try messing with the WUR on my car to end some backfiring. The normal adjustment screw on the metering plate won't turn, or maybe it's adjusted all the way rich.
