Jane, sons Zack and Andrew and friend Charlie came to NHIS Saturday to participate in NCR's Charity Laps for "Make A Wish" during the DE event. Zack and Charlie also tried "Taste of the Track, riding with an instructor during a run group. Lots of grins.

Photos of the event are on NCR's web site. ncr-pca.org

Transmission Rebuild Update

We had 9 guys and the Queen B herself show up for yesterday's transmission rebuild session. It was nice to see (and abuse) some Pelicaner's.

Sorry, I really blew it when it came to pictures. I didn't get a group picture or even a picture of Jane! Maybe Janus got some. For more pictures, see my website .

If you missed this session, my friend Vernon and I will be doing his 930 transmission sometime this summer.

-Chris

Don,
The car is presntly distributed between a few garages. Tranny with Chris Bennet, engine with Ed, body still at Jane's but moving soon to Damon's for painting. I think that's right. So pictures of color and stuff are going to have to wait a few weeks. Jane has asked for firefighter red. Cool.
There are some pics from the original "spec out the project" visit to Jane's posted on the original or subsequent posts.

Mark Hald ("Hald") and I towed the car up to Damon's Friday - over 200 miles round trip. Mark took pictures. He'll probably post them when he gets a chance. Here's one of Damon ("Series900") with the car.

My friend and mechanical mentor Dick Horan (Precision Imports) gave me the Bosch stool. Now if I could only find a source for those Wurth calendars.

Mark deserves all the credit for this one. He spent the whole day on this project. On top of that I can only imagine what his gas bill was for a 200+ mile round trip. That gas V10 is powerful but it doesn't exactly sip gas.

Great job guys, sorry I could not make it. I will be there next time, for sure.

Chris: I will also have to second the "nice do-rag" comment. Where did you get that thing? It must be a software engineer thing...

It was a present from my buddy. I think it is some sort of bicyclist head gear. It's got an integrated elastized sweat band - a little more high tech than the handkerchief I usually wear.

Well, I am not going to touch that one... my modeling career ended before I was born.

It's all about what's on the inside and from what I have seen you are doing fine. I am sure that JB will back me up on that one.
