Is this CIS fuel line FUBAR?

I had asked where I can get a replacement earlier here with no answers:

81-83 fuel line, WUR to fuel distributor NLA???

Now I am wondering if I really need a new one if it is NLA. This is the line I am talking about. Why the heck did they make it half rubber?



And here the rubber end going to the WUR. Is this bad news? The insulation is cracked and came apart more when I took the line off. What's inside the rubber? Steel?



Hope to get a go / no go for this line. I sure would feel best with a NEW or very good used line. Again, does the earlier all plastic line fit?
