Intermittant Loss of Power

I have a "86 911 with an electrical problem (I think) that occurs during warm operation and is extremely short (less than 1/2 second). The power quits and then resumes like it hit the rev limiter. I am only driving 60-65. I checked the previous posts and found a reply by John Walker to an electrical problem:

"sometimes the over-rev relay gets funky. seen a few of them go bad lately. they intermittently shut off the fuel pump, but usually just for a few seconds..."

How hard is this part to replace and how do I check it? Elecritcal problems are not easy for me to solve. This has only happened once but I don't want to be stranded. What else could cause this?

no over-rev relay on a carrera. replace the dme relay because it's old, and be sure the cylinder head temp sender is the later one with the fat wire and two terminals in it's white plug. check the plug. it's the top white one, above two black ones, left side of the engine.

I felt that there was since my tendency in Solo II is sometimes to go to high. I will get a new dme. Can this also affect gas mileage? Thanks for the help.
