Wiring Woes

Well as part pf my engine rebuild I decided to clean up my engine wiring harness. 1st question is will butt connectors and shrink tubing suffice for redoing previous repairs. 2nd tougher question is it appears that I had a wire pull out of my main engine harness connector. This wire is red w/ white stripe and goes to (2) connections. According to my wiring diagram it goes to the WUR and AUx air. These connections are ok. I cant seem to figure out which pin hole in the main plug this wire goes to. On the receiving plug there is an identical wire in the top row 3rd in from passenger side which would be hole #10 on the harness side. 76 911 2.7 CIS

I personally wouldn't use a butt conector. This is what I would do.... Battery relocation / soldering tips
