Hate to ask this but...

I don't have a spare 1000+ bux right now, and I'm going to do what you guys might not agree with.

I just ordered 28mm H&R adapters for the rear of my '87. I really want to fill the fenders out more and just can't get the money tree to fill out for new 8 or 9 inch wheels.

I have clearance, however I'm more concerned with geometry and any susupension damage.

I'm really pretty easy on the car. No tracking, probabley no DE either. I sold my '00 C4 and got this as more of a project and weekend car. So I'll not be "using" it as I did the C4.

At any rate, looking for opinions here - is 28mm too much and should I go down to the 21mm..?? I've seen the 21mm and it looks okay, but it seems a few more mm's will get me where I want to be.

Thoughts...??

Adapters? Or Spacers?

Do it the right way....get the longer studs and space them out....

As to size....go with what rocks your boat.

Sorry...these are the H&R DRM Spacers I've ordered.

Here's a description..

This spacer is fitted to the hub with special nuts and it carries new wheel studs for the existing wheel nuts.

Those are adapters...even though they do not change the bolt pattern. MOST autocross/DE and race sanctioning bodies do not allow them.

Turbo 911s use a spacer that slips over longer than stock studs and then use only the five lug nuts that are origiannly used on the wheels.....this is acceptable.

Adpaters will use those five nuts PLUS the five more to bolt the adapter to the wheel hub....not a safe idea.

Just my $.02.
