Angry Left turn no go

When turning to the left in my 78 SC the car cuts out like turning the ignition or fuel on and off. However if I turn to the right all is ok. I have looked for lose plug wires, CD box ground, fuel pump and so on. Even a slight left turn will do this. What can this be?

My car did this same thing years ago!! How weird. Does it seem to do it more often in warmer weather?

Anyway, I won't keep you in suspense. I trouble-shot this problem for probably two years and finally found the culprit. The PO of my car had replaced the fuel pump and had cobbled up the wiring at the pump itself and the 12V lead was grounding against the fuel pump housing during left turns. It was hard to see for all the electrical tape, etc.

Anyway, I would submit that you have some sort of fuel delivery problem in that once fuel pressure drops even a little on a CIS car, the injectors close and the engine cuts out. Abruptly.

Try wiggling everything you can find with the engine running and see what happens.

Good luck,

Mike

Thanks Mike. Yes it is worse the warmer it gets. I will look at this over the weekend.
