Removing wiring harness... HELP!!!
Man, this looks to be one daunting task, the ONLY one that has me balking on my RSR project.
Questions... 1. Is it really a big deal, or does it just seem so? 2. Is removing it a must do for a full respray of the trunk area? 3. How many beers should I bring either way?? |
I found on front engined cars that you can get the bundle of wires pretty well contained in one big sausage, by taping it all together. Then just hold the sausage up and paint underneath it, after the paint is dry, drop it and paint above it. I am pretty sure this method will work for you on the 911 too. Remember, not much can be seen of the area you are talking about. So if it is only 99% perfect, you'll survive!

If you want to remove the bundle, a method that has worked for me is to identify every wire that comes out of the center tunnel, disconnect them (most go to the fuse box), and pull them out from the rear.
