Car is MT 72.

I did a repair using a hydraulic truck shop. Pull the line, they unclamp the fittings and replace the line. The fittings are metric and hard to find.....the other alternative is a Speed or Japanese tuner shop that has metric to AN fittings and building a replacement.

The heavy truck shop is your best bet. They may even have new fittings since you are in Europe....

Good Luck

Same thing happened to me, and I used a truck shop as well. But what they did was cut the flexible pipe (this is where mine burst) and used a slide in fitting, added a small piece high pressure hose and used one of those machines that crimps steel clamps to tubing/hoses. This lasted up until last year or about 12 years when I finally decided to replace with a new unit.

Thanks guys,

I had it repaired here in Prague at Hansa Flex, a shop specialized in hydraulic systems. Great work, service and price. So if you ever get stranded in Czech call them (www.hansaflex.com).

Cheers,
Ed

What are you going to do with the old hose fittings? I might be interested in them.

Let me first drive a bit to see if everything is ok.
If it is you can have the old fittings if you pay postage.

Wow, yours looks like it exploded, mine wore through because the nut that holds the line to the inside of the fender came off which caused the rear wheel (lot's of -camber) to chew right through the line. And I got damn lucky as it happened right outside my driveway while I was leaving. I made the first turn and looked in my rear view mirror and saw a trail of oil. Turned motor off, used rescue tape when it cooled, and drove it home.

You're right, looks like it exploded, think it was a bad repair sometime in the past....

I noticed the smoke while driving, continued for another 400 meter before I realized my pressure was gone. Basically lost all 8 liter of oil in 30 sec. Fortunately the engine is still okay. Just returned from a 250km trip and all is well.

Kevin, PM me your details, I'll post it tomorrow or day after.

Ed
