901 NUMBERS MEAN a '71 yr?

7196061 This is the number on the tranny I am selling, didn't know if it meant a '71 yr, 4 spd or 5 spd etc.
Any help out there?

It would help to have the transaxle 'Type Number' [of the form 901/xx or 911/yy] ... also stamped on the bottom side.

Why would a targa have a different transaxle than a coupe?
