Cored out catylist
In my area of New York, the annual inspection includes checking for a Cat that is in place, no gas measurements are made. I know it sounds kinda sleazy, but has anyone ever successfully 'cored out' a catylist?

I've done it on my 84 911. It was pretty easy... I just used a really long concrete drill and drilled everything out (make sure you have a good mask!).
However, I switched to a Fabspeed pre-muffler and am much happier with it. It sounds better and looks cooler too! There was a strange hollow sound with the gutted cat. If I were you, I would keep my eye out for a used pre-muffler. You would be much happier with it. |

The cat is worth a lot of money - you will be throwing those $$ down the drain. Also, they will likely tighten the rgs - what are you gong to do when they start doing gas analysis on your car? And, it may not even add any power....
