87 911 power seat problems
On my drivers power seat when I try to adjust it forward or rearward only the left side rail adjusts. The right side stays stationary. Any thoughts?

Two of my driver side switches did not work. I opend up the switch. Cleaned off the burned contact with sandpaper. Now both switches works like new. You should try that before replace them.

The motor for the seat is in the bottom front of the seat and it has a cable coming off of each side of it. Inside of the cable is a square ended drive cable. It has slipped out of either the motor side or the seat rail side. If you get it re-seated it will immediately start to work.
BTW- Make sure the other side is in the middle of its adjustment before you hook up the loose side. Otherwise it will be operating under a constant binding load. Wayne

Your the man, I found thhat the cable had slipped out of theseat rail side. Upon inspection it seems to me that if the outside plastic sleave were shortened 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch the likelyhood of the cable slipping out again would be diminished. I'm not too concerned with it because the fix was easy enough. Thanks again, Johnny O
