28MM Spacers...Hmmmm...

I put on my H&R 28 MM rear adapater/spacers last night.

The look is very good. Filled out the fenders nice...very nice. I have 7x16 on the rear. Money tree isn't quite ready to be picked thus no 8's or 9's in the near future...which is the route I'd rather go..

My car's been lowered by the PO...not too much...just right. Already the rears had a slight negative camber, but now it's very noticeable. Rides out great though. Tracks very straight, turn in is very good, but I'm kinda' freakin' about how pronounced the negative camber looks.

I know some folks are anti-spacers...and that's cool. But I really wanted to try them myself to see what I thought. Like I said drives fine...very fine. But just looks a little odd.

This will be temporary till my fall harvest of the money tree, at which time I'll be on a set of 8's or 9's....

Think I'll be okay?? I do not drive this '87 too hard at all. Pretty tame actually...but always in it...

Phattey...

Adding spacers wouldn't increase your camber. If its more than 1.5 degrees or so, you're going to be wearing the inside inch of the tires pretty quick.

Your studs are probably not long enough for this unless you have changed them. I think you need six or seven revolutions of "bite" and my advice would be to use steel nuts. I have 21mm spacers and like them

longer studs is how the factory does it,but the adapters you have are the bolt on`s,right? l used those also,at the rear of my car but went with a straight spacer plate and longer studs at the front. Can you post a pic? l`d like to see the camber/track from the rear..

I'll take some pics tomorrow.

It's kinda' odd. The passenger rear dosen't appear to have as much negative camber as the driver side. I may have an issue with that side being out of alignment a little where the passenger side is more neutral...??!! The adapter/spacer @ 28mm may make that more noticeable now..

That's a terrible guess at the situation, but there's definately a noticeable difference in the two rears when the car is parked.

Strange as it may be, it still tracks very straight at any speed.
