My 85 911 ac fan was real noisy...it burned up...mechanic replaced it....still noisy.....any advise?

A squeeking, chattering noise perhaps? First of all, did it make noise when you picked it up from your mechanic? If so, you should have him (or her - need to be "politically correct" these days) have another go at it before accepting the repair. More than likely, the squirrel cage fan is out of balance or simply bent. The squirrel cage is available as a spare part. Have the problem taken care of ASAP as the imbalance condition will prematurely wear out your new motor.

I thought this was the 911s charm. My '85 and my dad's 80 does the same thing.
Let us know what the fix was. IIRC - mine had a large foam piece that made closing the smuggler's box VERY difficult, but it didn't rattle then.
